I was thoroughly charmed by Lara, whose courage and humor are matched by the responsible demeanor Peter has been forced to assume every since his mother started falling apart at the disappearance of her husband.

I especially enjoyed the magical beings Astor created for this lively novel. This is a very entertaining and charming fantasy adventure for all ages.

I like To the Mountain and Back because it is adventurous. It is adventurous because Peter is on adventure to find his father. He also finds giants, mermaids, and bears to help him on his quest. During his quest he found a girl snowboarding and saved her from an avalanche so the girl and her cousin, Ethan, when they run into a witch the witch kidnapped the girl’s cousin. After they got Ethan they continued their journey.
There is also a villain. The villain’s name was Broderick. Broderick wanted to take over the world. First he was friends with the king. Then he started to control the king. Then he started to control the castle. In the end Broderick was defeated, Peter found his dad, and the world was in peace. I really liked the book and I recommend this book to ages 8-16.

strong male and female characters with strong values, morals. Good story line and no "dead" spots with over-description. Enjoyable for a read together.

This book is a really great book. I'm always looking for new authors, and I recently came across Marie Astor and downloaded this book. She is a great writer, and this book was by far one of the best fantasy books I have read. I would highly recommend this book to fantasy lovers.
my niece is a huge fan of Harry Potter, and wizards of Waverly place and anything to do with this genre of book. I was babysitting for her the other day with strict instructions not to let her watch too much TV and not to play games. So i got out my Ipad, and we found this great book for her. She absolutely loved it. She felt like she was thrown right into Transadonia and she was entertained the rest of the time and she didn't miss the TV or her games. Isn't that what its all about?
